I can’t stand rough watercolor paper for drawing purposes. No matter whether we’re talking about graphite, charcoal, colored pencils or oilpastels. What on earth made me use it for this drawing??? Don’t know, I’m just happy that I’m almost done with it :)!

If so you might want to check out this fantastic tutorial Armin Mersmann is doing on WetCanvas. It’s called “The Creative Process in Portrait Drawing“. I can recomend it to anyone, it’s really amazing. Armin introduces us to three different kinds of portraits: the narrative portrait, the symbolic portrait and the homage.

Actually I found his instructions so full of inspiration that I started drawing a portrait right away. It is going to be a symbolic one and it’s title being “reflective mind“. The beginning was easy, but now I hope that I’m going to find the time to finish it.

Well, I think it actually suits this weeks edm challenge (“draw hair”) as well.

Inspired by Michael I tried to sketch another candle. This time using charcoal.
There’s no such word as inpossible in art!
